Care Guide

All jewellery will tarnish over time but it will happen much faster when in contact with perfume, hairspray, creams or chlorine. Definitely don’t let gold vermeil jewellery near hand sanitiser! Try to keep your jewellery dry and don’t leave it sat in the bathroom.

Clean your silver jewellery every so often using a toothbrush with mild, soapy water and/or a polishing cloth. Take extra care when polishing gold vermeil jewellery and only do so when really necessary.

Store your jewellery in a dark, dry and airtight space. Silver can tarnish quite quickly when unworn and exposed to air.

If your silver jewellery has become just a little bit tarnished you can simply use a silver polishing cloth to restore it.

If over time your jewellery has become more tarnished and is due a good clean we highly recommend Town Talk’s cleaning solutions. We use Town Talk Silver Sparkle Dip for silver jewellery (and a silver polishing cloth if necessary). For items with stones, gold and gold vermeil pieces we use Town Talk Jewel Sparkle Dip (with their more gentle microfibre cloth if necessary).
